Huayhuash trek 2027, private by design
A private Huayhuash circuit with freedom and structure.
A private trek is not simply a standard departure with fewer people. It starts with your group, available time, mountain experience, preferred rhythm and reasons for coming to the Huayhuash.
We turn those priorities into a realistic route, then operate it with the same careful logistics, quality equipment and safety-first decisions used across every Andes Treks departure.
Only your group
Trek with your partner, family, friends or team. No unrelated travelers are added to your departure.
A pace that makes sense
Start when conditions are right, pause for photography, and manage long climbs at a rhythm suited to your group.
A route with purpose
Prioritise the classic circuit, quieter camps, photography, longer days or more recovery time.

Extend your private journey
Add private day hikes around Huaraz.
A private acclimatisation hike can turn the days before the circuit into part of the experience. These outings can be added to your private trek package at additional cost, with private transport and guiding arranged around your arrival and fitness.
Ask about day hikesLaguna Wilcacocha
A gentler first outing with wide views across the Cordillera Blanca.
Laguna Churup
A steep, rewarding acclimatisation hike to a clear mountain lake above Huaraz.
Laguna Llaca
A high valley walk with close glacier views and a quieter feel.
Laguna 69
The iconic turquoise lake beneath Chacraraju, ideal after initial acclimatisation.
Laguna 513
A more demanding private day in dramatic terrain below Hualcan.

More viewpoints. More recovery. More time behind the camera.

Local control matters
Planned in Huaraz. Operated by our own team.
Private Huayhuash trekking demands more than a different date on a calendar. Transport, camp access, staff, food, pack animals and contingency planning all have to move together.
Andes Treks manages those details directly. You speak with the same local company that prepares and operates your trek, so the plan stays clear from the first message to the final trail day.
- Direct planning with our Huaraz office
- Our own guides, cooks, logistics and equipment
- Clear written itinerary, inclusions and price
Recognition
Recognition for the team behind your trek.
These awards reflect the travel and trekking work carried out by the team behind Andes Treks. Your private departure still receives its own careful route planning, local logistics and guide support.

Some recognition shown here may have been awarded to our mother company, Wander Free Peru, for work carried out by the same team operating under the Andes Treks brand.

Before you enquire
Private Huayhuash trek questions.
Still unsure which route is realistic? That is exactly what our first conversation is for.
Ask a different questionWhat makes a Huayhuash trek private?
Your booking is operated only for you and the people you choose to travel with. You have your own guide and support team, and no unrelated trekkers are added to the departure.
Can we choose our own departure date?
Yes. Tell us your preferred date or travel window and we will check guide, staff, transport and campsite logistics. Your date is secured once Andes Treks confirms it in writing and the booking conditions are completed.
What is the best time for a private Huayhuash trek in 2027?
The usual Huayhuash trekking season runs from May through September, when conditions are generally drier. Private dates are subject to guide, staff, transport and local campsite availability, so early planning gives you more choice.
What weather should we expect on a Huayhuash trek?
The main trekking season is generally drier, but the Huayhuash weather can still change quickly. Expect strong sun, wind, cold nights and the possibility of rain or snow at high passes. Your final packing advice will reflect the season and current mountain conditions.
How many days do we need for the Huayhuash circuit?
We can design a private trek from 4 to 12 days. Our most popular examples are 6, 8, 10 and 12 days. The longer options follow a fuller Huayhuash circuit, while shorter routes connect selected highlights at a faster pace. We recommend the duration after reviewing your available time, acclimatisation and experience.
How much can the itinerary be customised?
We can adapt the number of days, daily distances, route direction, camps and selected objectives. Every change remains subject to acclimatisation, weather, trail access, local restrictions and the guide’s safety assessment.
How difficult is a private Huayhuash trek?
The Huayhuash is a remote, high-altitude trek with sustained climbs, rough terrain and passes around 5,000 metres. A private format lets us plan the pace around your group, but you still need suitable fitness, trekking experience and a careful acclimatisation programme.
Where does the private trek start and finish?
Planning and the pre-trek briefing take place in Huaraz. Most itineraries begin with a private road transfer from Huaraz to the selected trailhead and finish with the return transport stated in your written proposal.
Can you organise a private trek for one person?
Yes. Solo private departures are possible when staff and logistics are available. Because a complete trekking operation is still required, the per-person cost is higher than for a small private group.
How is the private trek price calculated?
Your quote depends on the route, duration, group size, staffing, transport and any requested upgrades. We provide a clear written proposal after learning what your group needs.
What is normally included?
The confirmed proposal normally covers your licensed local guide, mountain cook, support staff, pack animals, camping equipment, trek meals, boiled drinking water, safety equipment and the route transport listed for your itinerary.
Can private day hikes be added before the circuit?
Yes. Laguna Wilcacocha, Laguna Churup, Laguna Llaca, Laguna 69 and Laguna 513 can be considered as private acclimatisation outings. They are priced separately and added only when they fit your arrival schedule, fitness and altitude plan.
Do we still need to acclimatise for a private departure?
Yes. A private departure gives you more control over pace, but it does not remove the effects of altitude. We recommend arriving in Huaraz early enough for a proper acclimatisation plan before entering the circuit.
